Sports corner

As an ardent fan of Arsenal Football Club, I was pleased to watch arsenal win both in Champions lg qualifier and EPFL, while Chelsea losing both. After watching the highlights of thegame a couple of minutes back, and unable to share my feelings with any other Arsenal fans (Noone's picking up their phones :((), I thought of penning it down. The victories were in fine style and the goals were really classy.

ONE MORE reason to be in India... I get to watch all the games on one of the best ever sporting coverage networks in the world, ESPN/STAR sports for Asia. Unlike the sports network in this part of the world, where there is not even a news coverage of world sports :( Miss those days so much, when all the Arsenal fan club used to gather in hostel common room to watch the champions league games at midnight :(

Was a big Man U fan back in India with a healthy respect for Arsenal but have stpped following the game since coming here (also the fact that Man U was never the same after Beckham went away didnt help)

@rohan: I actullay disliked ManU due to beckham :-p

@casa: Me not into much cricket... although my hatred for the game has dwindled offlate... BTW if I remember well singapore has huge fan following for English Premire league soccer...

@Totti: I dont get it ... u mean NOT(Cribbing) == Cricket?? With your self proclamed name of a soccer start u shoudn't be speaking much in favour of cricket or change your name back to the original one..

@pointy: Well.. Jaisa desh vaisa bhesh... Offlate I have started liking football(amroo), looks much better than cricket for sure... But soccer is always one sport close to my heart and I can move from this country for that one reason...

Yup, Spore has such die hard fans of EPL, you cant go to a pub and sit peacefully if there is a game on! Big screens, lots of beer, and dumb fans ready to fight it out in the pub itself... hmm, quite a scene!

PS: I dont like Beckham... too much glam, too little sport.

@casa: waaw... watching games in bars sounds so much fun... the only time I did that was once in grmany and it was amazing fun...

@totti: Hmm.. I wonder why is beckham popular.. majority of people seem to hate him.. anyways... from some reliable sources I realized that totti you were born in Naples, Italy, can u please enlighten us on why u moved from there??

Oh cmon guys he is one of the best playmakers in the game right now, just coz the strikers at Real Mad suck you cant blame him (of course all that hype around him takes away from his achievments on field alil bit like Alan Iverson and terell Owens). And of course no one can still bend it like Beckham :)
